Evaluations


Speech/Language

We offer evaluation and treatment for speech/language disorders in ages 2 to 18.  An evaluation consists of:

Review of your child’s medical history as related to his/her speech/ language difficulties.
Specific testing for deficits, which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assessment of your child’s receptive and expressive language skills
  • Assessment of your child’s speech/phonological skills
  • Assessment of Fluency (stuttering)
  • Examination of your child’s oral cavity and any related oro-facial features
  • Hearing Screening
  • Review of findings from evaluation and possible areas of treatment

Auditory Processing

We offer evaluation and treatment of Auditory Processing Disorders for ages 5 to 18.  An evaluation consists of:  

Review of your child’s medical history as related to his/her auditory processing difficulties.
Specific testing for deficits, which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assessment of your child’s receptive and expressive language skills
  • Assessment of your child’s phonological processing skills
  • Assessment of your child’s processing of auditory information (SCAN)
  • Hearing Screening
  • Review of findings from evaluation and possible areas of treatment

Reading

We offer evaluation and treatment of Reading Disorders for ages 5 to 18.  An evaluation consists of:

Review of your child’s medical history as related to his/her Reading difficulties.
Specific testing for deficits, which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assessment of your child’s receptive and expressive language skills
  • Assessment of your child’s written language skills
  • Assessment of your child’s word reading skills including sight words and phonemic decoding skills
  • Assessment of your child’s paragraph reading skills including rate, accuracy, fluency and comprehension
  • Assessment of your child’s spelling skills
  • Assessment of your child’s phonological processing skills including phonological awareness, phonological memory and rapid naming skills
  • Assessment of your child’s cognitive reasoning skills
  • Hearing Screening
  • Review of findings from evaluation and possible areas of treatment
